Simon is 17 years old and has been playing piano since he was four. He started in Sophia Ahmad's studio and in early 2020 transitioned to Luke Most's studio. Simon does not actually remember a time when music wasn't present in his life. Music permeates his everyday life through listening, playing, discussing, and attending musical events. Music as a whole is one of the primary influences in his life.

Simon's favorite piece from last the year was Chopin's Nocturne in C# Minor, Op. Posth. Piano lessons have helped to cultivate a greater understanding of the importance of patience, perseverance, and dedicated practice. These lessons help Simon not only in piano but in all areas of study and learning.

Simon has many favorites when it comes to music but his current favorite for listening is Delain for non-classical music and Chopin's works for classical. The one thing that is different now versus when he was younger is that Simon has developed a musical knowledge and skill set that is allowing him to begin playing pieces he's wanted to learn for years. The satisfaction of being able to play something that was on his wish list is quite rewarding. In addition to playing piano, Simon enjoys fishing (see photo below).
