In-Home Lessons

For the safety of our students and instructors, a parent or designated adult must be at home for the duration of time that a Mobile Music Lessons instructor is teaching the student. The instruction room cannot be a bedroom, and the door to the instruction room must remain open for the duration of the lesson. If there is not a parent or designated adult present at the time of and during the lesson, the instructor will leave and the lesson will not be made up.

COVID-19

Mobile Music Lessons is committed to quality and safety. We offer both in-person lessons that follow CDC and local public health guidelines, and virtual lessons.

Missed Lessons Policy

Any student/parent-initiated lesson cancelled with less than 24-hours’-notice will not be made up. Any student/parent-initiated cancellations with more than 24-hours’-notice will be made up at the discretion of the instructor. Any lessons missed by the instructor will be made up or a prorated tuition adjustment will be made. Virtual (online) lessons may be offered as a make-up lesson option for missed in-person lessons due to scheduling conflicts or inclement weather.

Temporary Withdrawal From Lessons

We understand that your lives are busy! Mobile Music Lessons offers temporary withdrawal from lessons for vacations or other reasons:

1. The guardian or adult student must provide at least 30 days' advance written notice for temporary withdrawal from lessons by emailing Genasee at genasee@mobilemusiclessons.com. A conversation between the student or guardian with the teacher cannot be substituted for the written notification to Genasee.

2. If 30 days' advance written notice to Genasee is not provided via email, the guardian or adult student is obligated to pay the full tuition fee for an additional month following the withdrawal date. This enables us to pay our faculty for the month.

3. While we will do our best to accommodate schedules, a student's lesson day and time upon return is not guaranteed.

Permanent Withdrawal From Lessons

We understand there may come a time when you may decide to withdrawal from lessons. We make it easy for you:

1. The guardian or adult student must provide at least 30 days' advance written notice for permanent withdrawal from lessons by emailing Genasee at genasee@mobilemusiclessons.com.

What age levels do you teach?

Mobile Music Lessons offers instruction for ages pre-school through adult. Group instruction at an educational institution is most appropriate for pre-school aged children. Private lessons can start as early as three or four years of age, depending on the child. Each child is custom-matched with a qualified instructor.

Does my student need an instrument?

Yes! The student will require daily access to an instrument.

Pianos: A full-size weighted keyboard with a pedal is suitable for a beginning piano student (as the student advances, an acoustic instrument is advised). We recommend West Music for piano and keyboard purchases.

Strings: Renting is a great option for small children as they grow through instrument sizes. We recommend Becker Fine Stringed Instruments for string instrument rentals and purchases.

Woodwinds/Brass/Percussion: We recommend Rieman Music and West Music for woodwind, brass and percussion instrument rentals and purchases.

What instruments do you offer?

Our faculty currently teach piano, voice, percussion, strings (violin, viola, cello, bass), woodwinds (oboe, clarinet, bassoon) and some brass instruments. Looking for an instrument not listed? Please email us at genasee@mobilemusiclessons.com and we'd be happy to talk with you.

What qualifications do your teachers hold?

Our gifted instructors all have teaching experience and nearly all hold bachelor's degrees or more advanced degrees in music. All of our teachers have undergone background checks as well, so you can be assured of high-quality, professional, personalized and safe instruction.

Can you please help me with another question?

We would be happy to! Please email genasee@mobilemusiclessons.com or call 515-216-3875. We look forward to hearing from you!
