2021 Des Moines Area Piano Festival Recap

Thank you to the 50 piano students who participated in the second annual Des Moines Area Piano Festival on February 28. The event was held virtually and presented by Mobile Music Lessons, in collaboration with West Music and the Museum of Danish America. Follow the hashtag #DSMPianoFestival and like the Festival on Facebook and Instagram!


Congratulations to the winners of the Victor Borge Legacy Award, held in conjunction with the Festival. Jonathan Stoker (pictured), is the first place winner and receives a $1,000 prize. He played Chopin's Nocturne KK IVb No. 8, and Etude Op. 10, No. 5. Seth Durbin is the second place winner and receives a $500 prize. He played Chopin's Preludes Op 28, No 3, 16, 17. Both will perform a recital in May at the Museum of Danish America.


We congratulate all of the participants, their families and teachers, and we look forward to the 2022 Festival!
