Get to know Mobile Music Lessons student, Ellen from the piano studio of Arkay Brown!
Q: What is your favorite piece to play?
A: "Whispers of the Wind" by Randall Faber. I played this during the summer recital. I liked how it was long, flowy and smooth.
Q: What has music taught you?
A: Music has taught me how to keep a steady beat, play scales, learn the notes and understand the rhythms better.
Q: Who is your favorite artist?
A: Taylor Swift, her songs are so good and catchy!
Q: How has music been a part of your life since you were young?
A: Music is part of my everyday life and a constant ever since I was little. I hear music in the car, when I am playing piano and when I am dancing. I sing in choirs at church and school. My grandma was a vocal music teacher for 41 years and she is also a pianist. I like to play duet pieces with her.
Q: Anything else you’d like to add?
A: Piano is a really great activity to do and it makes you really smart, so I am going to keep at it and encourage others to play as well.
